Es geht schnell in die Fruchtbildung \u00fcber, meist schon nach dem dritten Jahr nach der Pflanzung. Sie wird 3 bis 4m hoch. Sie vertr\u00e4gt niedrige Temperaturen (bis zu -25\u00b0C) gut und eignet sich auch f\u00fcr den Anbau in Gebieten, in denen die gew\u00f6hnliche Kiwi nicht gedeiht. Im Mai oder Juni bl\u00fcht sie mit wei\u00dfen Bl\u00fcten. Im Oktober oder Anfang November tr\u00e4gt sie 2-3 cm lange Fr\u00fcchte, deren Schale glatt und essbar ist. Die Sorte Issai ist selbstfruchtbar und ben\u00f6tigt keine weitere (m\u00e4nnliche) Pflanze zur Best\u00e4ubung.
